Multi-Factor Authentication with Google Authenticator

Standard

I recently started using Google Authenticator. Some research into password strategies right about the time of some widely publicized hacks and password breaches, also at the time I started getting into crypto-currencies, prompted me to make the switch.

Although I had been reluctant the Authenticator app is so good, and the benefit so great, that I have been switching all websites and services that support two-step authentication over to that more secure approach.

I’ve added some more information on the topic to my personal site. One post looks at different authentication factors and the concept of multi-factor authentication. It sounds dry but I find this stuff fascinating.

A second post looks at Google Authenticator and how it uses the introduction of additional, more secure, factors to make authentication more secure.
